Just FYI, there is major construction on the Rock Island trail as you go east towards Chilhowee, Leeton, Windsor, etc. The trail is closed at this point essentially beyond Pleasant Hill. It looks like it is an extensive improvement project that will keep that section of trail closed for a while. I am unsure how far east you would have to go in order to get past the construction.

Rock Island Trail Trailhead: Pleasant Hill TH
Pleasant Hill TH on the Rock Island Trail at mile post 262.90 is under the following advisory:

Closed: The Pleasant Hill trailhead to the Purvis Road parking lot is closed until further notice due to construction of two bridges. There is no detour route in place. Please use Purvis Road parking lot to access the trail going east.
