Wondering if anyone has recommendations, points of interest, lodging, etc. for biking the trail beginning in Clinton. Also if anyone is planning a ride in October.

Two places we always put on our Katy Trail "must" list are the historic hotels; Hotel Bothwell in Sedalia, and the Fredrick in Boonville. They are clean, people friendly and the rooms very nice and updated.

Just Clinton to Sedalia, or anywhere along the trail?

Don't miss Boat-Henge at Cooper's Landing, the Big Burr Oak tree, and as a former resident of Jefferson City I recommend an extra day in the State Capital. Tour the incredible Capitol, don't miss the Thomas Hart Benton Mural, and book a tour of the old Missouri State Pennitentiary. Be sure and get ice cream at Central Dairy. You can get a great hamburger at the bar and grill in Portland. Hermann and Washington are wonderful towns, with history and great pride. I've heard wonderful reports about Joey's Birdhouse in Mckittrick. And there's a B & B on the western end of the trail run by a guy named Jerry that gets rave reviews.

Oh oh, I just noticed the subject is Autumn ride west to east, Clinton to Sedalia. So looks like you won't be going past Sedalia. Well, you'll just have to come back and do the rest of the trail another time so you can enjoy all that I listed above.

Check out the new Airbnb that just opened. The Blacksmith Carriage House just a few blocks off the Katy Trail in downtown Boonville. They are listed on Airbnb, Vrbo and Facebook. It is a historical Wagonmaker and Horseshoeing building that has been converted into a nightly rental.
