Earlier this month my two older daughters and myself planned a 3-day trip from St. Charles to Sedalia and then Amtrak home. The excessive heat slowed us considerably so we revised our plans on the fly and caught the train in Jeff City instead. (I had work Monday morning and was concerned about missing the train in Sedalia on Sunday night). None-the-less it was a great time.
