Where to stay in Hermann??

We are planning a trip this fall and spending a couple of days in Hermann. As I look at the maps, I'm trying to figure out where might be the best place to stay that is centrally located by the majority of shops, wineries and restaurants. Any suggestions?? I'd like somewhere that serves a full breakfast and has a hot tub. Any one?? Also where to eat?? Thanks in advance!!

My wife and I stayed at Esther's Ausblich several years ago, and it was a fantastic B&B. Esther had a basket with cheeses,grapes, and some excellent local wine waiting for us, per my wife's request. It is located close to the trail,up on a bluff. We watched fireworks one night. It is centrally located by all the shops and restaurants. There was a hot tub also. Now to the breakfast; it was fantastic, and a lot of locally farmed fruits and vegetables were used. She made the best quiche I've ever had. I think that you should be aware that Hermann gets real busy in october because of the festivities of octoberfest; so I would not waste any time in finding a place to stay if I were you. Enjoy Hermann, it is a beautiful town, and everyone I have ever encountered there was old world lifestyle.

We've stayed several times at Hermann Hill and seem to migrate back to it. The B & B is up on the hill on the west side of town, west of Stone Hill and the cottages are a short distance east of down town. Their web addy is www.hermannhill.com. It's the real deal and surely won't disappoint.

I'll second the Herman Hill recommendation. It's a bit more expensive but it is absolutely 5-star. The cottages (mis-named as they are) are a great place to spend July 4th so you have the direct view of the fireworks. You have a hot tub on the deck (with privacy), a large jacuzzi inside and one of those fancy showers inside as well. Very spacious, simply the best of the best. The food is excellent even at the cottages where it is a little more manual (they put more than enough in the fridge with instructions on how to cook things they've pre-made for you). You'll want to get on the same-time-next-year plan like we did.

We stayed at the Hermann Motel this week. Very nice for the price and super clean. If your looking for a nice clean place to stay at an affordable price this is it!!! If your looking for a B&B experience they you might look elsewhere.

Neufeld-Davies ROCKS! It's not the prettiest from the street, but the inside is lovely and the food and the hospitality was awesome!! We had our own private deck, own bathrooms with showers and felt very comfortable there.

We stayed at Captain Wohl's (just be sure to request an early check in when you make the
reservation). We had a hot tub and an amazing breakfast (including sausage locally made).
Walking distance the bike shop, one of the wineries and a really good pub recommended by
the B&B. Not centrally located (closer to the river) but I would recommend it.
