We are planning a trip in October, riding from St. Charles to Augusta. Spending the night in a B&B and riding back the next day. Is this a scenic ride? We only have a couple of days to ride. Thanks!

It is scenic, not as much as the Rocheport to Jefferson City section, but quite pretty nonetheless. You will see some signs of the city, but there are some really nice sections of wetlands and railroad cuts. Augusta is a beautiful town and you will enjoy it.

We rode from St.Charles to Augusta and stayed at the Apple Inn. It was wonderful. Room was perfect; breakfast was fabulous. Owner was very hospitable. Would highly recommend

Lisa, St Charles to Augusta is a nice ride but in my opinion it is not the most scenic section of the trail. Ater riding other sections of the trail my wife and I were disapointed with the scenery along this section. Augusta is a very nice little town and I am sure you will enjoy it. Be sure and take plenty of water because there is no water until you reach Defiance. You can get water at the bike shop in Defiance. If you want a real scenic ride I would recommend going to Rocheport or the Herman area, that's my favorite parts of the trail.
