My wife and I would like to do the DNR ride in 2009. I would be interested in any advice someone would like to share with us about this ride. Things to take, do's and dont's, should we camp? B&B? Tansportation to St Charles, we live out side Kansas City. This will be our first time

I rode in the 2008 DNR ride for the first time and plan to do it again in 2009. The ride in general is very well supported by the DNR. Snacks and water at all the SAG stops, very nice people (riders and staff both.) I highly recomend the ride for anyone, just make sure you train well for it. I camped all week, it was a blast. Pack lite. As far as transportation, the DNR provided shuttles (for a minimal cost) from one end to the other last year before and after the ride. So park at whichever end is closest to where you live. I believe in 2009 they will be going from Clinton to St. Charles.
