We had a great time in Hartsburg with Jeanette. She greeted us with
her famously tasty lemonade and my husband must have drank about half
of the pitcher himself! The place is a restored hotel from the 1800's.
It is spotlessly clean and decorated with beautiful antique furniture.
Jeanette generously allowed me the use of her washer and dryer to get
our biking clothes clean. She is just the nicest lady and has some
really incredible stories and photos about the flood of '93. Jeanette
is such a kind hearted woman and proof would have to be in all of the kitty's she has rescued and now lovingly takes care of. (The vast
majority of which do live outdoors.) As for folks with cat
sensitivities this may not be the place for you, but for the rest,
this is a wonderful stop along the trail!
