I've been reading through these comments, and I just want to thank all of the locals for being so nice to us out-of-state riders! My brother, dad, and I are planning a ride on the Katy in July, and we're thrilled about it. We've done some long distance riding before-- about 450 miles on the Mississippi River Trail (which is actually more of a route than a trail), and then a good jaunt on Paul Bunyan in Northern Minnesota. We met some great people as we progressed south on the Mississippi River, and I am sure there will be more to come in Missouri! Thanks everyone. See you on the trail.

Seems like most people along the Katy are pretty good folks....as you get closer to any of the state lines.....well...not so much. The border states seem to corrupt them and there goes the neighborhood.
