We're looking for a cosy, not swanky B&B in the Hermann area. Biking and camping from Clinton on through and thought it would be fun to visit the wineries and check out a B&B in Hermann. Anyone else find anything on the more homey, not fancy, criteria?

We've stayed at Birk's Gasthaus and the Secret Vine.....both are close to downtown, on the level, adequate and met the need.

Highly recommend Capt Wohlt. Three(?) buildings, all really historic and well-done. Well-kept, good food. Owner Kent is friendly, helpful, knowledgable. Helped us with problems after a long ride on a rainy day. Now almost a "personal friend." Plan on a layover day in Hermann to enjoy the town and winery.
