Does anyone know the status of the extension between Clinton and Pleasant Hill? I saw a map on some website the other day that showed it looking as if it was already finished! Thanks!

Not sure what map you were looking at but the extension is suppose to go from Pleasant Hill to Windsor and it has along way to go before it is done.

Progress on the Rock Island Trail State Park was recently mentioned on MO Bike Federations website. There is a link there to a January 13, 2012 article in the Kansas City Star.

The trail is now going to be built on the railbed after federal approval. That approval is expected to take about a year. The original plan was to build along side the railbed.

From that article: "The project will be constructed in nine phases, with completion estimated originally to take about three years."

Any more updates on the Kansas City Extension? I assume no work has been done in several years. There is a nice new trail going north out of Pleasant Hill but not very long.
