Start up at Matchens and stay at I The Little House in Marthasville. It is 150 yards off the trail in the middle of town near a pizza place, a cafe, a bar, etc. It is listed as a B&B, but it is not the type of B&B I'm used to: It is 2 bedroom house with a stocked kitchen for breakfast, hot running water with a great bathtub, a comfortable bed, cable TV, and no hosts to entertain you. Check in, pay your $ and she leaves you alone. AWESOME! No offense to all you traditional hosted B&B's out there, but I'm just one of those guys who doesn't need, or want to be served or hosted--so this place is right up my alley. If that is your style too, stay at The Little House in Marthasville.
