I'm finalizing plans for a family bike trip from Clinton to St. Charles. I'm having a hard time finding a possible restaurant in Pilot Groove or Windsor - or other places in those general areas (2 different days) along the trail.

Pilot Grove has a few other places to eat that are not listed in the planner, but if you can ride on to Boonville (11 miles more), there are scores of places to eat.

Click on these towns on the above interactive map. Windsor: Raymond's Family Restaurant and Pilot Grove: Becky's Burgers & Cones. These towns have Casey's too among other places to find grub.

Just remember the hours that they are opened are sporadic. Also, be sure to have plenty of water or other fluids from Sedalia to Boonville. There is absolutely NOTHING in that area. I learned the hard way.

Agree. In the little hamlets, there is food to be had in most places if you are not too picky(i.e. Casey's C-stores), but in Pilot Grove, and elsewhere, it's good to have more water than you need, and trail mix to bail you out just in case....... I carry 2 water bottles, a small CamelBak, and a rear bag with tools, camera, cell phone, and emergency rations.

There is also a store in Beaman, it's about 1/4 mile north of the trail. There is no water at the trail head in Clifton City, it is best to carry extra water from Beaman to Pilot Grove. Enjoy your trip.
