I was wondering if anyone has taken the train From STL to Warrensburg and rode down to Clinton to start. A second option would be to take the train from STL just to Sedalia and get a shuttle to Clinton. Has anyone done this and /or have any suggestions?

Hi Paul! I have taken the train from Kirkwood to Sedalia, then rode into Clinton on the trail, litte over 30 miles. You can camp at Henry's Fairground free in Clinton. The train fare with 1 bike is around $35. Take a 0 day in Clinton then start your ride back to Machen.

I agree, just avoid the hassle and expense. Jump on your bike in Sedalia and ride the short distance to Clinton.

In May I rode Amtrak to Warrensburg and took a shuttle from Central Cab to Clinton, I attempted to get off in Sedalia buy I could not get any shuttle services to return my call. Central Cab was great and the cost was $45.00 just make sure you call them a day or two in advance.
