Wow!This place is fabulous. The food was fresh, flavorful & wonderfully prepared. I had a baked potato with oven roasted cherry tomatoes and fresh basil & HOMEMADE BUTTER! My hubby had a slice of peach & apple pie, made by Rick's(?) mom. We could see the storefront from the trail & rode over to check it out. There were 6-8 folks saying goodbyes & the hostess invited us in. I'm pretty sure she was past closing time, but she stayed open for my hubby & I & another couple. After our meal, they offered to re-fill our water bottles. True hospitality! We highly recommend the McKittrick Farmers Mercantile. Other offerings include pizza, pasta & egg dishes. Next time we ride the trail, this place will be a priority for us!
