River crossing?

I'm looking for recommendations for crossing the MO River to get from Dutzow to Washington. The Hwy 47 bridge does not seem bicycle safe.

Crossing the bridge isn't too bad. We've done it twice going from Washington to Dutzow. Stay in the middle of the lane and let the cars stay behind you over the bridge. Don't try to stay close to the side so both you and a car can fit. The cars we encountered were patient and they wait for you to cross. The rest of HWY 47 is a different story. Quite scary riding on the shoulder. Don't be afraid to stop and let traffic go by and start again when it's clear. Good Luck.
