I understand that the Katy Trail is a 'linear' park. Anyone have any idea, legally, how many feet you can be off of the trail before committing trespassing ? Any feedback is appreciated! :)

The old MKT rights-of-way widths are still valid. Depending on where you are, that can be as little as 12' from center of the tracks, to 50' on either side. A lot of the landowners along the trail have marked where THEY believe the park to end.

If you are taking a leak, don't worry about it: If you are thinking about stealth camping, don't do it.

There are plenty of town parks and private camp sites to stay along the trail without worrying about "legal width of trail" JB. Private landowners are sensitive about stealth camping...can you say "Deliverance"?
