does anyone know if there are any public showers in st. charles to start with and any other areas would also be helpful . I was not planning on staying the night ,so no hotel ect.

Consider carrying some baby wipes and just wipe the grime off you. Much easier than finding a shower on the trail. If you stop at a trailhead with water, you can always sponge yourself off.

thanks ,but last week i had 40 miles of sweat and grime . i ended up washing in a park restroom (not it's intended use) . for future trips in looking for public / pay showers. i have since heard that the casino in st. charles may have showers . can anyone confirm or deny.

The casino probably could.

Have done the whole trail several times and don't know of any public showers anywhere along the way.

You can use the ones in the Turner Katy Trail Shelter in Tebbetts. Otherwise, some of the nearby campsites might let you shower for a fee.

Take a bar of soap and jump in the river.
It's what we did before there was running water.
