How far between Sedalia and Washington?
Is it best to bike from Sedalia to Washington and take the train back to our car or take the train to Washington and bike to Sedalia? I hear that some trains do not allow bikes? Is that east bound or west bound?

You can use the "Mileage Chart" link above to find the distance between any stops along the trail. I always find it best to cycle back to my car when using any type shuttle. This leaves a little flexibility in your schedule. I don't know the particulars on the train, would be best to contact Amtrak direct, you will have to deal with them for reservations for yourself and the bikes anyway.

Dittos to MidSouth's referral to the Mileage Chart on this site -- it's very helpful. Also, on the site home page, there's a link "Trains! ... riding Amtrak to the Katy Trail" that has lots of good info you might find useful.

Below the Mileage Chart is a link to an elevation chart. It kind of resembles a flat line, but is interesting to see the slight changes on the western side of the trail.
