Looking at some of the dates of posts and replies I'm guessing the trail is still open? It looks like I might get furloughed in the next week or so and was looking forward to jumping on the trail. I also watched on the news where some of the Park Rangers have run people off (and even ticketed someone!).

Sunrise to sunset the park is open. I doubt that you've seen that park rangers have been ticketing people for being on the Katy. That has happened at some of the National Parks because they've been closed. No need to try to tie the two together and create unnecessay drama is there??

As noted by Trek....the KATY is a part of the Missouri parks systems....not the federal parks system. Go...ride...enjoy....
