Our family of four is planning to bike the whole trail this summer. We have 10 days. Can anyone recommend stops on the trail that are most worth an extra overnight? We love stuff like hiking, fishing (if there are rentals), or other outdoor family activities.

Eagle Bluff Overlook just west of Coopers Landing (Easley) is a nice steep hike up the bluff with a great view of the trail and river bottoms below.

Klondike Park near Augusta. Excellent developed park with a fishing lake, hiking trails, full camping facilities, etc. Immediately adjacent to the trail.

Also, Creve Couer Lake park near St. Charles. Very large lake with non-motorized boating, (sailboating, wakeboarding, canoeing etc. with rentals available). I don't think they allow camping / overnight uses but excellent day trip spot. About 2.5 miles from the Katy via separate bike lane on Page Avenue bridge.

Enjoy.
