I'm just curious if anyone would be interested in running the entire trail some time in March. I'd like to run it from East to West and take about a week. Would love to have a companion for legs of it or possibly the whole thing. Let me know if you're interested and we could discuss further!

I have met a few people on the Katy over the years who were running the equivalent of a marathon a day (for 9 days straight). I toast them because I am not a runner, and few people can do that much for that long a period, given the elements and the fatigue that sets in.

Running 35 miles a day for a week is a bit out of my comfort zone, but I hope you're planning to log your adventure online. Let us know if you've got a Twitter or blog account where you'll document your preparation and the run.

I planned on doing this back in 2011, and was not ready for so much flat and ended up with severe tendonitis. I got 2 days and 85 miles in, and ended up borrowing a bike in Bluffton to finish the rest of the trip. I still have my documents from planning it if you are interested, email me rtroeh@yahoo.com
