parking and riding

I am coming from Houston and would like to ride the whole trail. What would be a good place to park on either end of the trail or which city would have protected parking. Then, how do I get back to my vehicle? Also, I have a road bike and a hybrid. Which would be easier on the trail.

CLV, since you are a newbie, check out the website first, towns and services, mileage chart, ride services, trail surface, etc. then come back with "draft plan".

Get yourself to Clinton (park and sign in at the community center), ride yourself to St Charles, Amtrak yourself back to Sedalia, ride yourself back to Clinton. Enjoy the memories. Details found on this website
