I'm a KATY Trail volunteer, rode from Jefferson City to Hartsburg and return today 1/1/05. Trenching just east of trail head at JC is underway to install flush toilets at last!
Bridge work is complete and cleaning of leaves, limbs, etc. from mm149 to Claysville has been done, don't know if the pipeline that runs under the trail has been removed at mm149. A dock that is not longer in use on the Missouri River exists at this location where fuel was barged in and pumped up the hill through the pipeline that will or has been removed. Trail is rough in the mile or so section.
The folks at Claysville are busy building onto the restaurant and store.
Good ride but did get wet (rain) on the return from Hartsburg.
By the way the work on the Missouri River Bridge from Jefferson City is complete and the bicycle lane has been restriped (you must ride against the traffic going into Jefferson City).
