soft trail?

Does anyone know what the current trail conditions are? There's been so much rain this winter that I worry the KT Trail is soft n muddy in sections. There's also threats of flooding from the MO river, but I'm not sure how concerned I should be about that. Who's been on trail between Washington and Rocheport in the past week??

I would like to know the trail conditions as well. I am about to start a ride and am wondering if I will have trouble with my loaded touring bike.

Rode yesterday from Greens Bottom to Matson and there were some soft spots.

McBain to Rocheport was fine. After the tunnel heading toward Boonville was rough due to recent flooding, and a few wet patches but nothing mushy.

I just rode from Pleasant Hill to St Charles. Pleasant Hill to Windsor had some soft spots but it was still ok. The rest of the trail was hard packed, with a few bumpy spots only 10-20 ft long. No mud at all. All in all, it's great.

Anon thanks for your recent reports. Heading out May 17 and been nervous about trail conditions but you put our minds at ease! Glad to know the detours are minimal and the trail is in good shape despite the harsh weather of late

This subject appears every year. Basically, spring time is a period of flooding conditions that every rider needs to check current conditions as posted by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), recent whether conditions (rain) for the week before your ride along the trail and north west of Kansas City to give you an idea of what to expect. If there is flood stage conditions along the Missouri River and heavy rains forecast in central Missouri and/or Northwest of Kansas City then you are likely to experience problems. If you don’t like problems, delay you trip until after June with fall being a better option.
