I didn't understand this when we planned our trip, and I think maybe it will help others who are planning trips.

The state parks department, without warning, closes sections of trail. They do lots of planned maintenance during the prime riding season.

Make sure that you check out this page:
https://mostateparks.com/page/58843/potential-flood-locations
and the closures listed on the right side of the page.

It can be pretty disappointing when you see the sections that are closed, but it's better to know ahead of time rather than being surprised.
