Does anyone know if there are any detour routes around the closed areas?

Generally speaking, no - the detours are under water as well. Check the MoDot road information routes and you can see the roads that are closed due to flooding. http://traveler.modot.org/map/

It's a rough year - and more water seems to be coming.

As I am rescheduling, I don’t think I will have time to drive out. If I fly, does anyone know if there is a way to rent a bike to pick up in sedalia and drop off in st Charles? Or should we rent in st Charles and transport it?
