Is there safe parking close to the trail head in St. Charles. I would like to leave my car somewhere safe for a couple days while I ride the trail.

There are two good-sized lots at St. Charles where you can park. Look for the Lewis & Clark Boathouse (also labeled as Frontier Park). Since you will be leaving your car overnight, the police strongly suggest that you remove all valuables, especially those in plain sight. Also, put your phone number on a piece of paper in your dashboard in case the police need to get hold of you. The good news is that the flood waters are completely off of the parking lots so you will have plenty of room. The lots do fill up on weekends with tourists, so keep that in mind.
