This is a great place to stay. It is quiet, the beds are great and the food is outstanding. Very large breakfasts, great for biking. They will pick up or take you to the trailhead. It is very convenient to the trailhead and also riding the greenway trail in town. close to all types of dinner options- Missouri Blvd

My sister and I had a great stay here. We rode the trail early and so arrived to the bed and breakfast around mid-day. We called the owners and they came over right away to let us in. Everyone was so friendly and they accomodated our early schedules with an early breakfast at 5:30am. I highly recommend staying here, especially as it is down the street from Central Dairy!!

We had a great stay at Briar Rose. The host & hostess are super friendly and our room was luxurious. Breakfast was super, and we appreciated the trail pickup & delivery, running us by a bike shop, and pointing out good places for dinner. (stay date 6/13/2011 on trip from Hermann to Sedalia)

We cannot say enough about this bed and breakfast! The owners were so accommodating and friendly!! The house is one of the nicest B&B's we have ever stayed in; private baths for each room! Also, the breakfast (scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, juice, coffee, danish) was out of this world! Ready at exactly the time they said it would be including candle light!! The owners even shuttled us from the trail head at Jefferson City, stopped at a convenience store for a soda fix and then took us back to the trail the next morning. We were so pleased with our stay!! Will definitely be back!! Thanks!!

We had a wonderful time in Jeff City with Randy and Jeanette! Randy

picked us, our bikes and gear, up at the trail head in North Jefferson

and shuttled us over the bridge and into the city. Since we had

planned to spend the day there sight seeing, he graciously took the

long way back showing us where everything we wanted to see was

located. Our room was incredible, beautiful, spotlessly clean,

comfortable and wonderfully private! We were greeted with homemade

brownies and a breakfast made to order the next day!. Randy and

Jeanette are so warm and friendly! We just loved staying with them and

plan on staying two nights with them next time!!!

We pulled in to Jefferson City trail-tired and dirty to be greeted by Randy & Jeanette with brownies and iced tea. The "room" was a lovely suite (The Rustic Retreat)- it was way more than expected and extremely comfortable. Jeanette and Randy were awesome. We highly recommend you have them shuttle you in - the bridge is a tough haul. Randy can easily handle bikes, trailers, etc in his truck. The breakfast is wonderful and made to order. We highly recommend a stay here!!

Briar Rose B&B. 29 May 2008. Biking with two teen age grandsons from Sedalia to St. Charles. This is a fine B&B. Randy and Jeanette were great hosts. Pick up at N. Jefferson Trail Head was easily done. Very nicely decorated B&B. Great breakfast. Highly recommended. We would stay there again.

EXCELLENT CHOICE! Thanks Jeanette and Randy for sharing your B&B with us. My husband and I, along with 2 other couples, chose this B&B after viewing the website. We were bicycling the Katy Trail and wanted more than just a hotel room. As it turned out, each couple had their own suite of rooms and private baths. Very, very spacious. Jeanette even had a pan of warm brownies waiting for us when we arrived. And the breakfast the next morning was outstanding. We were served eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, juice, coffee, and more. We certainly did not leave hungry.

We highly recommend this B&B to anyone travelling thru the area. It certainly ranks among the top B&B's we have stayed in.

Thanks to Jeanette and Randy for your hospitality. We really enjoyed our stay with you.

I got to tour the quarters at the Briar Rose B&B recently with the local CVB Diplomats. Its a gem worth checking out on the Internet.

While in Jefferson City,be sure to visit the new Lewis & Clark Trailhead Plaza which is on the Capitol grounds. Dedication is June 4. The bronze statues will arrive on May 22. See the following link

for details on the plaza and sculptor: http://lewisandclarktrailwatch.blogspot.com/

I wanted to stay in Jeff City but thought it may be a hassle to get there from the trail. Don't you have to get a shuttle?

Randy from Jefferson City on 05/16/2008 07:56 AM:
You do not have to take a shuttle across the bridge & many folks do not.

I recommend you read the comments on Bridge at Jefferson City.

Both Bed & Breakfast's (Briar Rose Inn, and Cliff Manor) have shuttle service. I think that 1 or 2 of the Hotels may also have shuttle service available.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Briar Rose Inn Bed & Breakfast. Jeanette and Randy are wonderful hosts and the bed and breakfast is awesome! Breakfast was delicious and filling. We will be sure to make this our home away from home the next time we are in the area and we would highly recommend that you do the same!
