We really enjoy eating at Cafe Bella in Augusta. We frequently ride the Katy Trail and then have lunch at Cafe Bella. Everyone is super friendly and the food is delicious. Great seating outside on the patio and a great menu.

I am a local, and my wife and I often go to Cafe Bella for a treat. The cafe is run by a mother/daughter team, who serve the most delightful and delicious food. The menu is usually limited, but the items on the menu are excellent. The atmosphere is quaint, and you feel like aristocracy from the 1800's when sitting inside, or like a tourist in Italy when on the patio. There is a good choice of wines to choose from, and the desserts are just as good as the appetizers and main courses. Highly recommended. 5 stars!

Had visited this restaurant years ago when I first met my wife, was probably under a

different owner/name back then. Took a romantic trip to Augusta this weekend and

wanted to go back to the restaurant we visited so long ago. It was maybe 8pm, a server,

who greeted us at the door after about 5min of waiting went on and on about all of the

people that just "showed up" without reservations (it's Saturday night during the nicest

weekend of the year so far...). We were turned away I suppose due to a lack of

preparedness on the part of the staff. There were several empty tables. Another couple

behind us were turned away as well. Funny thing was when the server first greeted us she

stated she'd go back and check if they could seat us. When she never returned I finally

went looking for her, only to find out the bad news. I guess she wasn't actually going to

come back and just hoped that all of us standing at the door would just go away, I believe

that's called apathy? This should serve as a red flag to the owners/ concerned parties.

Sorry.

Years ago the restaurant where Cafe Bella is now at, was Ashley Ro se...they have moved and they are now located on Walnut St in Augusta, across from the town square.

My daughter and I visited Cafe Bella for lunch on August 22nd, 2009. The hill getting to the cafe is a challenge, but the food and service were well worth the climb (and yes...it's uphill ALL THE WAY to the restaurant). My daughter and I both had just the salad for a brief lunch. The food was well-prepared and tasted wonderful. The server was busy handling a restaurant full of patrons, but was still very attentive and polite. She even offered to refill our water bottles! We'll be back!

A visit to Cafe Bella does require you to climb the hills of Augusta, which are not inconsequential. Do not be daunted by the first hill up from the trailhead. It is the steepest... walk it if you must. We rode a tandem loaded with camping gear all the way up to the restaurant, and the reward for doing so was more than worth it. Cafe Bella are happy to provide abundant ice water with lemon; the food is gourmet but not fussy, generous in portion but reasonably priced. I would say it was one of the top two places we ate in 5 days on the trail (the other SereniTea House in Booneville, not directly on the trail). And they're open on Mondays!

If you are looking for a wonderful meal on the trail this is the place. Plenty of seating inside and a patio area when weather is nice. Food was amazing. Her special that day was a chicken quesadilla that I am tempted to drive back to have again, along with the Spicy corn chowder soup. Nice choice of wines to also have with your meal. Only downside is during the week if it is really slow they may close early. We were there during the middle of the week and another couple stated they were closed about a hour early that doy. Maybe call before heading up the hill but worth the ride for sure.

We took a leisurely six-day trip from Clinton to St. Charles in July 2008, stopping for dinner at many great places along the trail. Cafe Bella was our favorite. Wonderful food!

Cafe Bella offers delicious food, a fabulous atmosphere, and good service. I would definitely visit this restaurant again. In addition, there is a wonderful shop right next door called "Wineroad" that had the best shopping on the Katy Trail! The shop held lovely hand-painted silk scarfs, jewelry and clothing. I can't wait to go back.
