Creasons Katy Trail Shuttle Services in Sedalia
Germannie from Greenwood in on 01/14/2016 10:13 PM:
Would you be able to shuttle luggage from Clinton to Sedalia and the next day to our next hotel in Booneville, or who does this type of service?
MidSouth from Rogersville, MO on 01/14/2016 10:18 PM:
You will need to contact the Shuttle providers directly, I don't think any of them actually look at this page on a daily basis...
MidSouth from Rogersville, MO on 01/14/2016 10:20 PM:
I believe the Touring Cyclist would be my first contact for that type of service.

Do you shuttle from Hermann to St. Charles? We would leave st. charles and need service back at the end of our long day. Also what type of cost is involved?

Is it possible to get a shuttle from Sedalia back to Jeff City if we park at Jefferson City?
Jim Clem from Alpine, Ca. on 06/01/2007 05:10 PM:
We used Gary Creason to shuttle use (Creason's Shuttle Service 573-694-2027)-good rates, and he will pick you up and drop you off anywhere.

Can you tell me if there is overnight parking available in Dutow? We are trying to plan a trip to McKittrick and don't want to get our vehicle towed.
Trek Biker from St. Joseph, MO on 09/18/2006 09:41 PM:
There is ample parking at the trailhead in Dutzow.
tammy from wright city on 09/18/2006 11:41 PM:
We are doing the reverse of you :) How do you getacross the bridge into Herman? That road is way to fast.
Trek Biker from St. Joseph, MO on 09/19/2006 08:43 AM:
Many of the B&B's will shuttle you from Hermann to McKittrick...check with who you are staying with as they may already have you covered.
Many warn not to ride the bridge in Jefferson City and Hermann. We have ridden both and found them not to be as bad as the thermal runaway crowd might want you to think. If you are a novice....the Hermann bridge may not be for you. If you are accustomed to riding in or near traffic.....time your entry onto the bridge with little or no traffic behind you. The Hermann locals seem to be accomodating.
Emily from St. Peters, MO on 10/01/2006 11:02 PM:
Rode across the bridge to Hermann this weekend, cars were very nice. They are building a new bridge winter 2007 with a bike lane and a spur from the trail (McKittrick Trailhead) to the bridge. At the city campground the people said that drivers are used to bikes there and like having them in town.

What is the cost of a shuttle from Clinton to St. Charles for a solo rider, bike and Burley bike trailer? I'm considering riding the Katy from St. Charles to Clinton and camping. Also, any pointers and suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.

I haven't gotten prices from Gary Creason, but I do have a 2004 rate sheet from TC Tours shuttle (based at the Touring Cyclist bike shop in St Charles). Their prices range from $60 for St Charles to Weldon Spring, to $360 for St Charles to Clinton. Note that these rates include 1 to 4 people and their bikes & luggage. So St Charles to Clinton is only $90 per person if you can find three other people to split the ride. For 5 or more, add $5/person and $5/bike (don't know what their maximum capacity is). Again, this is from a rate sheet dated 2004, so rates might have changed, but this gives you a general idea what to expect.
Here's a list of all shuttle services (using the "Plan a Ride" feature):

Regarding camping, here is a list of all campgrounds along the trail :

Another option is the AMTRACK. You can catch it at Sedalia so you will have to ride back to Sedalia from Clinton or have a shuttle bring you from Clinton to Sedalia. I used the shuttle (local cab company in Sedalia) in April 04 and the cost was $50. The AMTRACK will take you from Sedalia to Kirkwood, (about 18 miles south of St. Charles) and you can ride from the station to St. Charles or get a shuttle to take you (the cost for this was $50 in April 04. The Amtrack fare is $22 plus a small fee for your bike and trailer.
