I would say you have the range right but the only area that floods seasonally is a small area just east of St. Charles and that should only be for a few days in a "normal" year. Other low areas around Portland and Rocheport flood every 2-5 years on average. A lot of other areas go under as you go up from those levels.

I believe as you said Rocheport to Easley to Hartsburg gets flooded pretty easily too.

I am planning to cycle across Missouri using the Katy, but I wanted to completely cross Missouri. I am considering starting in Drexel, MO, then to Clinton KT for the remainder. To finish up I would like to continue on from Machens until I get to Illinois. Has anyone done the Drexel to Clinton ride? Is there any place to camp near Drexel?

Since reviewing the area I am considering settling in at Linn County Park & Marina in LaCygne, KS. Looks like it is a pretty straight shot to Clinton. Has anyone camped there before?

I did end up getting a B17 today! Any recommendations on pedals? I am an spd guy. I had the "touring" shimano dual spd/flat pedals on my xtracycle. I love them, but they are very heavy. Im not sure what I should go for, maybe just the standard spd dual sided mtn bike pedals?
