Unfortunately, HH Fortmann and Co. appears to have gone out of business. We arrived in town about 6:30 and saw that the windows were covered with butcher paper and no signs of life. I was really looking foward to eating there based upon the comments posted here.

We were there on 4/20 and they were open and had a very delicious lunch. Unfortunately when we came back through town on 4/25 they were closed. Not sure if it permanent or not. Its a shame though; we had to get sandwiches at the gas station instead. I hope they open back up.

H.H. Fortmann & Co. is great. Good food, good atmosphere and they're open from 6AM to 10PM seven days a week. We were there for lunch and the place was really busy with locals and bikies. We'll be back...

This is a great place! My son and I pulled into Marthasville this past Saturday (3/31/07) very wet, very tired, and very hungry. After getting set up at the Little House B & B (another great place!), we walked down to H.H. Fortmann & Co. The owner was there, the place was clean, the service was excellent, the prices were reasonable, and the food was delicious. My 12 year old said that was the best burger he'd ever had, and he's an expert!
We also ate breakfast there the next morning! My only complaint was they didn't have grits! (grin...)

We locked our bikes and walked in to the greetings of "hello" from about 5 employees. This was a great beginnining and was followed by a wonderful lunch at a great price. It's a 1904 building and the young owners are trying to instill the hominess from that time.I wish I were going to be around to try their Friday night steak special. If it's anything like today,it would be hard to beat....great food, and a wonderful atmosphere...great fudge to go, by the way.
