What a wonderful spot to stay after a long trek from Boonville! Very easy to find and most welcoming with snacks, cold drinks, and a washer and dryer with soap provided. It seems they thought of everything!

My family of 9 is planning a trip to Missouri to ride different parts of the Katy Trail. We age from 10 to 70 with a ride range of riding experience. I’m wondering how many people the cottages can accommodate and if this would be a good spot to start. Allowing us to try different parts of the trail during a 3 day stay.
Thank you

Jeff City would be a great place to ride east and west from.

Contact your choice of lodging for specifics about their business.

Jefferson City, Hermann and Washington are good locations that provide housing and food for a group your size. They aren't directly on the trail, but short and safe trails leading into them. Good Luck - you'll have a great time!

If I were going to plan a stay at one location for several short day rides I would pick a smaller town that sits right on the trail. Rocheport is one such place that's stands out to me. It is a beautiful ride going either direction out of town. Going southeast runs directly beside the river for miles. I'm not sure about accommodations for a group of your size but if you plan well ahead it might be doable in a smaller town.

Driving from Wisconsin the advantage of having a vehicle makes it much easier to access trailheads as well as a towns amenities. Jefferson City offers amenities that smaller towns do not.

What a fantastic find for Katy Trail riders! From the chocolate, ice cream, bananas, and chilled beer mugs, Julie and Steve leave no need or want unmet. Great basement to store bikes, with a much appreciated floor pump to top off the tires before the ride home. Comfortable, clean, great morning light. Close to "uptown" in JC, where you can find lovely breakfasts and the High Rise Bakery. Irish pub Paddy Malone's is two doors down from the Katy Trail Cottage, and is quite lovely. We already have our dibs in for next October.

What a find! This comfortable cottage with lots of space and surprising touches is just over the bridge. Owners Steve and Julie were super nice, and once inside we found frozen beer mugs, lots of little snack treats, bananas for weary muscles, comfy beds, a basement space to store the bikes (and do minor maintenance out of the sun), and a full kitchen so we could cook our own dinner. Highly recommended.

We had a very nice stay at the Cottage! After a hard day on the Katy, with lots of rain, it was great to crash here! Julie and Steve have thought to provide all of the important things bikers could need - washer and dryer, secure bike storage and a comfortable bed for starters. There were also snacks and fruit - and chocolate!! A full kitchen is available if you want to cook a meal. The Cottage is conveniently located near where you get off the path on the bridge across the Missouri. On top of that, after we forgot a couple of things the next day, Steve was kind enough to bring them to the trailhead before we left town. Super!!

So convenient! Just a few hundred feet from the end of the bridge coming over the Missouri. Very clean with nice big basement with laundry and space to store multiple bikes (necessary to haul them down 4 or 5 outside steps). Could use a TV: however the Wifi was fast.

I walked around the capital and had a great dinner at the Madison Cafe. Would book again.
