Fantastic stay at the Lindenhof! This is a classy B&B, delicious food, comfortable, and the most wonderful proprietors who make you feel right at home.

Superb stay. Hostess so accommodating. House very well outfitted and extremely clean. Hot tub a welcome reward at end of day. Breakfasts out of this world. Highly recommend.

The Lidenhof is amazing...wish we could have stayed there forever!! My husband and I were actually there the same time as Mary from Iowa! We stayed up late in the common room just talking and talking. The hostess, Kathy, thought of every detail. You will love the Lindenhof.

Kathy is great. Place is comfortable and looks great. Good food. The hot tub was really nice after a day on the trail. The two previous reviews covered it all. :)

We spent the night of April 16, 2019 at the Lindenhof B&B with another couple in the midst of a two day ride on the Katy Trail.
Our host, Kathy, has done a wonderful job of repainting and redecorating the B&B since she bought it last September. Beds are great, rooms spacious but cozy. The covered hot tub in the backyard was a gift after many miles on the bikes. Kathy made a fabulous breakfast designed to provide energy for a day of riding. It was creative, delicious, nutritious, and beautifully presented. Kathy was the personification of great hospitality. We plan to go back again.

We spent last weekend 4/07/19 at the Lindenhof with another couple.
Loved the home and patio area. Beautiful home and rooms. Luv the antiques and decor touches. Kathy was very welcoming and accommodating. We highly recommend this B&B and will definitely return. Saturday was a perfect day, so we rode the Katy trail, hit the Defiance Winery and then drove to Augusta to the B&B. Rain was predicted for Sunday, but was light and blessed us with a double rainbow. It was a wonderful weekend. Do stay at the Lindenhof.

We stayed here for a girls night Oct. 2018. Kathy was absolutely wonderful. She made us feel at home and was very informative on places to go and eat. The rooms are beautiful, the beds are so comfortable, and the champagne tub was amazing. She has a hot tub outside which we really enjoyed plus a beautiful fireplace. Kathys breakfast was amazing one of the best we ever had. We can't wait to go back and do it again.

We stayed with Kathy at the Lindenhof B&B in October 2018 while cycling the Katy Trail. We really enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was fabulous--the best of our trip! Refreshments were offered upon arrival. It was handy to use a sprayer to clean up our bicycles after a messy day’s ride! Our room was very comfortable and spacious as was the common area. Great hospitality---highly recommended!

A delightful experience was our conclusion to what could have been simply, a "Good Bike Ride Spoiled" by pouring rain. We stayed at the Lindenhof with its quiet, spacious rooms, fluffy luxuriant towels, comfortable bedding, crackling fire, homemade bread, sumptuous generous breakfast and warm and welcoming proprietors. It was inspiring to hear one of the owners describe the foray into becoming a painter, and the process of learning from visiting artists who frequent the environs for the yearly plein air festival. The Lindenhof is a great place to relax after riding the Katy Trail, with great access to area wineries.

We spent the weekend at the Lindenhof in December 2014. What a great time we had! Bill and Debbie are very friendly and make you feel right at home. Our bed was super comfortable and the temperature in the room was great. Bedding and towels soft and very clean. The breakfasts and snacks were superb. It was a wonderful experience and within walking distance of wineries, a top notch spa and shops. Will definitely visit again.

Four of us stayed in two rooms at Lindenhoff in March and had an AMAZING time. The pictures on their site really don't even do the place justice. It was paradise. And within walking distance from Mt. Pleasant and Augusta wineries. There was a huge (like 8 person) covered hot tub outside, a great backyard area with a table, chairs and firepit (that was filled with wood and paper and ready to be lit). Inside there was a great living room area with tall ceilings and another fireplace. They also had all kinds of games and books. The rooms were beautiful and had huge jacuzzi tubs. The couple who hosted us were lovely and welcomed us with fresh bread, cookies and drinks. Breakfast was to die for. Best B & B experience I've ever had.

We had a wonderful time this past weekend staying at the Lindenhof. Debbie is very knowledgeable about all the happenings around Augusta, and was very helpful when we were deciding which wineries to visit. She and Bill cooked fabulous breakfasts and even shared her recipes. Highly recommend staying here, and we WILL be back!

Our stay at the Lindenhof was luxurious. After making the hard climb up the hills of Augusta, it is worth it to stay here. Debbie was great, and playing Jenga was fun (bc it rained all day), and breakfast was great. We met some other bikers from Nebraska and hikers from Iowa and it was fun all hanging out. We would recommend this place!

Stayed at the Lindenhof this past week(March 18th). We had a great stay. Met another couple from Oklahoma riding the trail - even Cornhuskers and Sooners can get along when talking about the great fun of riding the KATY trail. Debbie is a great host. Breakfast was wonderful! I would highly recomend this B&B.

We had the most delightful stay recently @ Lindenhof.

Debbie is most gracious hostess we have encounted in a b/b.

Also, her "stuffed french toast" is to die for.

You won't be disappointed in the stay.

The accomodations and food were superb. The biggest hill climb along the trail was reaching the b&b (quite doable).

Awesome! Stayed here a few weeks ago while riding Clinton - St. Charles. Debbie and Bill made us feel like we were staying with old friends. Patio was great - we relaxed with a glass of wine and a loaf of warm bread and slept like a baby in the Rose Room. Breakfast was wonderful! Would stay again.

We stayed here on a Wednesday night a few weeks ago and had a great time. The owners really just let you relax and weren't around except at check in and when she made breakfast. I know if we needed anything though they were just in the other part of the house. Breakfast was awesome, stuffed french toast with white chocolate, strawberries, and blueberries. She also made some type of egg creation with cream that I can't remember what it was called but very good. The setting is very quiet and relaxing and not too far off the trail. Would recommend if you are looking for a great B&B

We spent 2 nights at Lindenhof B&B and found everything superb. Debbie and Bill were great hosts, friendly, helpful and going out of their way to help us enjoy Augusta. Breakfasts both days were outstanding. Now we need to find another reason to be in the area. We enjoyed the hot tub and the outside fireplace.

Michele from Chicago on 08/17/2007 12:12 PM:
THis place is fantastic! The owners are very nice and helpful. We felt like we were visiting family! The home is comfortable and not too fussy. The hot tub was comfortable (it was actually cool on a 102 degree day!) The food is amazing. Highly recommended! This was the nicest place we stayed on the trail. It was also the most expensive, but a great place to spend our last night on the trail.

Larry Erickson from Seattle, WA on 10/26/2007 01:52 PM:
My wife and I stayed here one night in mid-October. It was the last in a series of stops in Rocheport, Jefferson City, McKittrick, and Augusta. As a "living" space, it was the best. A really inviting interior. We asked hostess, Debbie, about the building, and it was amazing how they had the foresight to see the potential growth from what started out as a rather small, simple building to what is now very attractive, useful, and spacious. The outside work only serves to compliment what has been done inside. Plus, the dining area, seems to make Debbie's wonderful breakfasts that much more delicious. True, it was easily the priciest lodging of the trip, but we credit that to Augusta being a prime getaway location for St. Louis, driving up the price for all lodging in town. Too bad Augusta doesn't have more to offer in evening dining spots of equal quality.

Does anyone have recommendations on lodging in Augusta? We plan to stay there 2, possibly 3 nights & cycle in both directions from home base.

We've stayed as H.S. Clay House Bed and Breakfast several times now -- it's exceptional. We keep coming back because the evening appetizers and breakfast in the morning is gourmet, not to mention the owners are really nice people. Their website has a large collection of photos of the place. There's a link to their site on this page.

Our children had given us an overnight at the Swan Haven Inn. We had to reschedule multiple times and Jacqui and Gene were VERY kind about it. The Inn is historic, charming, clean and comfortable. The wine and cheese was delicious and the breakfast was complete with fruit, fritata and scones. The hospitality was outstanding. Take a soak in the footed bathtub after the trail! What a reward!!!

James & julie from Wildwood on 06/16/2006 09:30 AM:
This cozy cottage built for two was just what the doctor ordered. My husband and I are both

athletic and rather competitive, so it was a delight to be able to come back to the privacy of

the cottage after a day on the trail. We relaxed, shared a little wine and spoke for hours on

the large covered porch. The cottage was just perfect in a storybook kind of way; the fun

didn’t end once we left the trail.

During a recent tour on the Katy we had a chance to stay at The Lindenhof in Augusta. It was the cleanest B&B on the trail and meticulously maintained inside and out. The innkeeper Debbie is most personable and a pretty good cyclist in her own right. Thanks again, Debbie for a terrific stay!

Do you allow children? We always bike with our 4 year old. We were thinking of taking a day and seeing how far we got, but need to be sure someplace would allow a child. We do allow him to sleep in the same room as we are when we are out places.

Never mind, I found my answer on the website. Looks like we'll have to hunt for a hotel/motel.
