The link to Loutre Lane B&B is broken on the BikeKatyTrail.com site; and there are no prices, etc. to determine stay. Q: Is this site no longer vlaid?
Anonymous on 07/23/2015 11:27 AM:
If you Google it you will get a phone number, although I do not know if it is current.
MidSouth from Rogersville, MO on 07/23/2015 12:54 PM:
I believe the phone number listed is correct, give them a call.
Luci from Rhineland on 06/12/2018 04:48 PM:
Loutre Lane is still open for business. We have 4 bedrooms and each has it own private bath. The original phone number no longer is in service so please call 573-808-6007 to make reservations. We appreciate your business!

Highly recommended!!! The six of us stayed with Lucy at her lovely B & B while on our tour of the Katy Trail October 2014. All the rooms were spacious, the beds very comfortable, and bathrooms plentiful! Breakfast was a feast-the best of our week long tour!!! Lucy is delightful, she made us wish we had an extra day to stay to visit Hermann and the area off the Katy Trail. Thanks for a great visit!!!

Highly recommended! I have stayed at Loutre Lane once in July 2008, again in Sept 2010. The next time I bike the Katy I will stay there again. It is in a laid-back, small-town, farming-community-type setting, in a quiet, peaceful, charming little subdivision up on the bluffs overlooking Rocheport, just the right distance away from the trail. I like the fact that it’s an actual residence---makes it more genuine. The house is roomy enough and laid out in such a way that there is just the right amount of “distance” between hostess and guest. It’s also nice and clean and tastefully furnished. I feel very relaxed there. Luci is a top-notch hostess, accommodating, and pleasant. I’m a fanatic about breakfasts, and her breakfasts are great. I had eggs, sausage, fried potatoes, toast, jam, coffee---but I think she’ll make pretty much whatever you want. By the way, “Loutre” means “otter” in French!

I guess on a clear day, you can see forever.
Jim from St Thomas on 03/03/2011 01:58 PM:
Kurt, I think Mr. Anonymous is alluding to the fact that Rocheport is around 75 miles from Rhineland. I'm assuming you meant to say it overlooks Rhineland or maybe Hermann on a clear day.
Kurt from St Louis, MO on 03/03/2011 09:07 PM:
Dang! Yes, I meant to say Rhineland, not Rocheport. That's not the first time I've done that. For some reason, I confuse those names. I do the same with "Tebbetts" and "Treloar".

June 21, 2010- Loutre Lane B&B is a darling place to stay with full accommodations and amenities like your own home. The room accommodations were very comfortable and spotless. Herman is about 5 miles from Loutre Lane B&B and the local restaurant in Rhineland was closed for dinner, so Lucy offered to drive us to and from Herman for dinner. We took her up on the offer since it was so HOT and we were tired from our long Katy Trail bicycling trip. Lucy recommended a fantastic Chinese restaurant. Lucy is quite the interior decorator as well, seeing her home designs and furnishings is worth the trip alone. And talk about a great breakfast the next morning with fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, and muffins. We really enjoyed visiting with Lucy and look forward to staying at Loutre Lane B&B again. Lucy is a great hostess, a fantastic cook and interior decorator!

We didn't get here until after 5:00 pm and Lucy had a meeting to go to, but after a quick shower she took us to the local bar for dinner. Breakfast was a full breakfast with fruit, eggs, bacon, and homemade bisquits. Lucy was very friendly and willing to help us with the little things like drying some clothes for us. Loutre Lane B&B is worth the climb up the hill.

Lucy was an incredible host. She had cold beverages awaiting us when we got off the 100 mile trek that day, taxi'd us into town for dinner and cooked us the largest breakfast spread I have ever seen. It was incredible! Here is a an overview of our trip (http://www.drj-racing.com/katy2006.html)

We had a wonderful 2 night stay with Lucy. She made us feel right at home and opened her home to the 4 of us. Not only were the rooms wonderful, but the breakfasts were excellent. We will definitely stay at Loutre Lane B&B the next time we are in the area. We also feel that we made a new friend. Thanks Lucy.

I've also stayed at Loutre Lane B&B twice. Had a wonderful stay both times. Even though it's a bit of a hill to get up to her place, it is well worth it.

Myself and a group of friends stay with Lucy every fall on our "Katy Trail Extravaganza presented by Little Buddy". This will be our 3rd time staying with her coming up in October and it is always a pleasure. She runs a great business and makes you feel right at home. See you in October Lucy!
