Katie was a great host. She was a great communicator and went out of her way to meet our needs. Shining Hope is so beautiful and comfortable. The king size bed and linens were the best ever. The history and her mission is commendable. You just can’t beat this anywhere, especially for the price! We loved our stay.

Stayed here while touring the Katy and got a great nights sleep. Very nice accomodations and staff very attentive.

Add my vote to concur: this was the most lavish and comfortable of the 4 sites we stayed at while biking the entire trail. Could not have been made any happier.

What a splendid stop. My fellow riders and I are from humble stock and we were quite unprepared for the beauty and comfort of this site. We were met with enthusiasm and grace. All our needs were well managed. If we are ever near (and each of us vowed we would be), we may just build our schedule around the ability to stay at Shining Hope. Katie was a great host and we could not have been more comfortable. It feels good to be linked, in some small way, to the good works Katie and her associates are striving to provide. I hesitate to go on with more superlatives knowing that there may be more trail riders vying for this great spot. But it is that nice - believe me.

I too, being of rather humble stock, feel good to be linked to fellow Romans of said humble stock. It feels though, a linkage in more than just a small way. I too vie for luxuries worthy of such superlative. My request is, and believe you I do, that you lavish us with more superlatives even though that may not be within your humble nature. Please do tell.

Absolutely fantastic! I rode the trail a few weeks ago with my 9 year old son and with no research decided to stay at the Shining Hope guest house because it was at the right spot on the trail. The rooms where great, the amenities were awesome. They have a fire pit with s'mores, a central room with full kitchen, games for the kids, beer and wine for the adults. I was truly shocked with how nice it was. We'll be back. I recommend a stop under just about any circumstance.
