Shuttles are a popular way to get from one point on the trail to another, or even beyond the trail. You can cover twice the amount of trail if you don’t have to turn around at your halfway point to return on your bike.
Most shuttles charge by the trip, rather than by the number of riders – so a shuttle trip for one rider might cost the same amount as for four riders. This provides an opportunity to save some money – and make new friends – by sharing a shuttle ride with someone.
To make it easier for riders to share a shuttle, one of the shuttle operators suggested that I create a feature where people who need a shuttle can get together, to share a shuttle with someone else.
So, if you think you might be "shuttling" any time this season, take a look at the
Katy Trail Share a Shuttle web page. Add your information to the list, or reply to anyone else whose shuttle needs are similar to yours. I’ve started off with a couple of sample entries to help give you an idea of how it would work.
