My stay at the Little House B&B in Marthasville on Sunday, September 16, 2018, was excellent. The host was easy to reach and work with. The older 2 bedroom bungalow had been completely refurbished and was very comfortable, with everything needed, including hot shower/tub, washer dryer, comfortable bed, Keurig machine (with selection of cups), coffee pot, microwave, ice, living room with TV, etc., and a multi port USB charger block (I had 1 block, but being able to charge multiple devices at once was nice). The host left fresh fruit and a breakfast cake, etc. I would stay here again.

Four of us stayed at the Little House last week and we had the house to ourselves which was great. There were lots of snacks and breakfast food as well as the washer and dryer which was a huge plus!

Just made a reservation to stay here when riding the trail this spring. I'm looking forward to the trip. The correct phone number is on the B&B website. It is listed wrong on this webpage. The number is (636)433-5339.

Ray (webmaster) on 02/20/2017 09:32 AM:
Thank you for pointing that out - I have updated the number on the website listings.

Wow, right off the trail in this little Mo town, with two bedrooms, lndry room, living room and kitchen, with bath/shower. Couldn't ask for anything better. Nicely decorated, clean, and left with a cinnamon breakfast treat, milk, and cheese/crackers. We were able to lock our bikes in a shed, and for dinner, we ordered a pizza from two blocks down (boy were we lazy after the long ride!). This is really a great place to stay. Note the second bedroom (bed) is very small, should you need it for a second couple. All in all, definitely worth it. We didn't meet the host, but the gal who cleaned up the room for our arrival was very nice and helpful. Thanks!

Stayed here on our 3rd night of our ride from Sedalia to St. Charles. Awesome acommodations! We had the whole house, which also included a washer/dryer, wifi, tv, food (thanks for the blueberry coffee cake crumble). We locked the bikes in the shed. We would highly recommend this place!

This place was perfect. Sleeps 6, laundry facilities, etc. There was a baked pastry for breakfast, fruit, milk, juice. It was just like stepping back into your Grandma's house!

This was a great B&B. The bed was the most comfortable giving me a great night's sleep. Having the entire house was almost like being at home. After 5 days of cycling on the Katy Trail, having a washer and dryer was a much needed luxury. I would highly recommend this B&B.

We stayed here in mid-Sept 2011. Awesome! Call me a savage, but my only experience with B&B's was with a host, other guests in other rooms, and a formal breakfast. Getting the whole house for my son and myself after 3 days of riding in the rain on that trail ranks high any way you cut it. That was the BEST hot bath I've ever had! Good breakfast. No hastle. Very reasonable price. Stay here if you can!

The Best stay on the trail. Not your normal B &B. Host will meet you and leave you alone. Snacks provided, but Phillies pizza is just down the street. Nice stay after a long 72 mile ride on the trail.

We also stayed there in mid-September and we are planning on going back again this year. It was wonderful. It was nice to just relax after a long ride on the trail. Banana bread was great!!!

Having this beautifully kept little house all to ourselves was a

wonderful private retreat! We loved the cheese tray and the home made

flower pot cake!! We will definitely stay here again!

We stayed there on July 7th. Definitely one of the best values on the trail. Comfortable and immaculate. Way too nice for three stinky dudes. She baked muffins in flower pots! Truly amazing!

Loved the Little House. We were tired and a little late getting there. We found the house to be absolutly charming, relaxing, and just what we needed. Highly recommended.

The house is immaculate and lovely. We apprecisated the privacy and the use of an entire house, including washer and dryer. The only negative was the breakfast supplied was inadequate for touring cyclists and there were no hearby grocery stores.

"We were at the Little House the day after SP from Mississippi was there and read the comments written in Rita's Journal and found them quite unfair. I felt I needed to reply. We've stayed at Rita & Jerry's quite often and always want to come back. Concerning the food provided at the Little House, most bicyclists I know do not want a large heavy breakfast. The use of the washer and dryer, secure bike shed, and clean accommodations, this place can't be beat."

I would have to echo the positive comments from the other posters about Rita and the Little House. This place is so immaculate, I almost felt bad about dragging my smelly carcass inside. Rita was more than welcoming and showed us around for about 10 minutes before leaving us to get cleaned up and settled in for the night. There is a full kitchen, full bath, two bedrooms, a large living room and cable for those who can't go without it. This is a great find on the trail.

We'd have to give The Little House our AAA rating for Awesome, Awesome, and Awesome.

Rita is a friendly and terrific hostess. The house is beautifully decorated and furnished

with comfortable beds and easy chairs ... just what the doctor ordered at the end of a long

day biking on the Katy trail. You get the whole house to yourself. Rita stocked the kitchen

with fresh fruit, cheese & crackers, home-made coffee cake, cookies, juice, milk, along

with an assortment of cereals, popcorn, hot cocoa, and coffee. The house has 2

comfortable beds and the sleeper couch allows you to sleep 6 easily. Bedrooms are

equipped with terrycloth robes, slippers, and big fluffy towels. Bikers can sleep easy

knowing their bikes are securely stored in the locked shed behind the house. The Little

House is fantastic and we can't wait to come back.

What a great place! My 12 year old son and I pulled into Marthasville on Saturday, 3/31/07, very wet, tired, and hungry. We rode up to the Little House, and read the nice welcome note from the hosts, who arrived 5 minutes after a quick call.

The place is literally a Little House. You have the whole place to yourself. It was clean, neat, and there was plenty of FRESH food. We locked our bikes in the building out back, and went off to explore.

They tried hard to make us feel at home, and it worked! I would certainly recommend the Little House if you're in Marthasville.

We stayed at the Little House on our last night of riding the Katy (Clinton to St. Charles) in September 2006. We thought it the best of all the places we stayed. We were able to completely relax. We liked it so much that when we began planning for our ride from St. Charles to Clinton this spring, the Little House was a must, and will be our first stop. Rita is a great hostess and makes this truly a home away from home.
