Thanks for the info - I have updated the Green Ridge listings

Sir Randall from Fort Lauderdale on 08/03/2018 06:34 PM:
Get your place listed on Google maps. That's how I've been planning food for our trip. Cyclists like to eat and we work up an appetite. A Facebook page and some pictures of your food will increase traffic from the trail.

We might see you in a few weeks.

Green Ridge- Park Side Cafe
Denise and Mike from Lees Summit MO on 11/02/2017 12:26 PM:
We stopped at the Park Side Cafe on our ride. They are about one block north of the trail. Unfortunately, we had already had breakfast but it was a cold morning so we stopped in for a cup of coffee and had a slice of warm peach pie. The Park Side Cafe was immaculate. The service was excellent and the pie was great. We will make sure we plan to have breakfast or lunch here on our next trip. We highly recommend a stop here.

Mike from Green Ridge on 11/07/2017 04:31 PM:
Thanks for stopping by. Mona and our staff work very hard to provide a relaxed, clean place to eat, rest, or enjoy a cup of coffee. Good food and comfort on the trail.

We are looking at biking from Green Ridge to Windsor or Calhoun - thoughts?? Just a relaxing Saturday bike ride. Is there a trail or is it highway? Are the restaurants in Windsor still open? Most posts are very dated. Thanks!

MidSouth from Rogersville, MO on 10/06/2015 11:42 AM:
You could ride on the Katy Trail...

LK (local knowledge) from Columbia on 10/06/2015 12:13 PM:
Yes, Katy trail runs through Green Ridge to Calhoon and Windsor. There may be a bar serving food in Green Ridge, but there should also be a Casey's. There is also a Casey's in Windsor (that means drinks, snacks and fuel in the form of pizza by the slice). About all Calhoon has is a C-store, and it is a few blocks off the trail fronting to Hwy 52. Windsor also has a Dairy Queen on Hwy 52 and probably a diner or two. All those are off the trail about 2 to 4 blocks (south).

Another undocumented feature of this section of the Katy is the proximity of Green Ridge to Whiteman AFB, home of the B2 stealth bomber. If you hear loud engine noises overhead, take a peak and you might catch a glimpse of one.....they are the big, black batwing looking contraptions. You rarely see or hear them coming, but have no trouble hearing them leaving. Base is only 15 miles or so north of Green Ridge.

We biked the Katy Trail in May 2014 from Sedalia to Clinton. Upon our arrival in Green Ridge my son was attacked by two dogs. They approached him from behind and bite his shoe once and then his ankle. Even though he had two pairs of socks on the dog managed to break his skin. No police or sheriff's deputy would assist us and even blamed us for not hunting down the biting dogs on our bicycles. We are now, unfortunately, undergoing treatment for rabies. I will say the staff at the local Casey's was very helpful and downright the best part of our visit to Green Ridge.

So very sorry to hear of this bad experience! Hope your son recovers completely and quickly.

Any further dog encounters in this section of the trail?

Tim H from Overland Park on 08/17/2014 09:52 PM:
I rode thru Green Ridge today. No problems with dogs.

June 25, 2010- On our journey to ride the entire Katy Trail from St. Charles to Clinton, we left Sedalia early enough so we could enjoy breakfast at the famous “Burf’s Green Ridge Grill”. While enjoying a great big breakfast for a small price, we were kept entertained with all of the funny signs, décor and friendly waitresses. Burf’s is worth the trip, just a couple of blocks from the Katy Trail.

I have been to the Green Ridge Grill several times over the years and it is great. Has one of the best pork tenderloin sandwiches I have ever eaten. One sandwich is enough for two or three people. Good waitresses and funny. Enjoyed it a lot. Would recommend it to any one traveling the Katy Trail or just in the neighborhood for what ever reason. When you see the Casey Convenience store look to the opposite side of the street and the restaurant is just off main on a side street. Ask any one in Green Ridge and they can tell you where it is. These folks deserve your business. Give their Grill a try.

Had so much fun here. Once again we were tired and hungry, good food and a nice cold bottle of beer and we were good to go. The people here are really nice friendly and helpful and loved the girls halloween costumes.

I was counting on the Field Restaurant for breakfast at about 9:00am on Tuesday 9/14; but it was closed with a for sale sign on it.

I felt sorry for the spit and wittle crowd. They had to congregate in the town park with coffee from Casey's.

Anonymous on 08/07/2006 02:51 PM:
Caseys has the best coffee in town, just stop by my store sometime and see for yourself. You'll keep coming back for more.

Burf's Bar & Grill is open now for Breakfast & lunch 7 days a week. For Dinner everyday except Sunday. Across the street from Caseys. Good food at reasonable prices.

Paul Marlin from Quincy, IL on 11/03/2008 03:41 PM:
In my 2004 post I meant no disrespect to Casey's coffee; just that I hate to see small town cafes and bar and grills go out of business. I'm glad to see it reopened.

Is the bar and grill in Green Ridge open now? We were trying to plan a ride from Clinton to Sedalia on 9/5 and couldn't tell if there was a place to stop in Green Ridge or not?? Thanks for any info!

Terry Smith from Sedalia on 08/31/2009 02:49 PM:
To Donna H...I know Burf's bar & grill is open although I have never been inside. I believe they are closed Monday's and Tuesday's but should be open on Sat 9/5.

We just visited Green Ridge and so broken-hearted fool spraypainted the exterior of the bathroom with a nasty comment. I hope that gets cleaned up quickly.

Anonymous on 07/24/2007 11:06 AM:
Did you report it to the DNR so someone could get it cleaned up quickly? Probably none of the poster here will take care of it.

Marge & MIke from Pacific, MO on 07/24/2007 01:39 PM:
Thanks, I just called DNR and they are sending someone to fix it today.
